Transmounted pigment prints
Various sizes
My interest in wild-west tricks continued with a tour of vanishing wild-west theme parks across the USA. I went to places such as The Ponderosa Ranch, Rawhide, Wild-West Town, Wild-West City, Old Tucson Studios and the town of Tombstone, where I photographed re-enactments of mythic cowboy legends. The series was titled document because it relates to notions of authenticity and authority within the work. The title also raises questions about documentary work and the portrayal of history, both by the actors and writers of these plays and of myself the photographer who records and archives this information.
